A case of retropharyngeal and auricular haematomas secondary to head and neck trauma in a 10-year-old child Is reported. The retropharyngeal haematoma was treated by an open evacuation successfully. Review of the cases reported in English literature is presented, and the current knowledge of the condition is discussed
