Abstract English

53 cases of brucellosis have been studied. The diagnosis is made by clinical picture with 2 serological tests [positive rose Bengal test and immunoflourcent antibodies titre more than 1/16]. All the cases are treated by doxycycline 100 mg twice daily and riflampicine 300 mg twice daily for 4 weeks. Fever subsides between 3rd and 7th day of treatment. 40 cases are followed up for relapses for 7 weeks after stopping treatment and no recurrence of symptoms are noted
