reported by representatives of Member States, 1. CONSIDERS that the development of nursing is of prime importance to all Member States; 2. ADOPTS the content of the paper in principle; 3. RECOMMENDS the Governments of Member States seriously to consider the drawing-up of suitable nursing legislation, the provision of adequate services for nursing education, the establishment of a section in the Ministry of Health carrying primary responsibility for the nursing services, and the Organization of National Nursing Associations; and 4. REQUESTS the Regional Director to continue to give maximum aid possible for the development of modern and efficient nursing services and to the development of programmes of nursing education based on policies laid down by the Expert Committee on Nursing of the World Health Organization.
