Friction between stainless-steel wire and bracket under wet condition [artificial saliva] was evaluated in an invitro study. Three types of brackets were used; stainless steel, ceramic and silicon.
Two types of ligation were used; steel tie and elastomeric rings. The results revealed high friction with silicon followed by ceramic and stainless steel brackets. Elastomeric ring exhibited more friction than steel tie ligation. The clinical application of this study was discussed
