Daily use of 5 grams of garlic for one month was found to be associated with significant fall in blood pressure and serum total cholesterol in hypertensive and hypercholesteremic patient respectively.
Significantly decreased levels of LDL-cholesterol and increased levels of HDL-cholesterol were also observed in hypercholesteremic cases. However, the effect of garlic extract [Lasona capsules] on blood glucose in diabetics was negligible
