An investigation was carried out to study comparative antisecretory effects of H2-receptor blocking drugs including cimetidine, ranitidine and tiotidine in pylorus ligated intact albino rats.
The data obtained showed that the efficacy of these agents in reducing the volume and acidity of the gastric secretion in the rats was in the order of ranitidine > tiotidine > cimetidine when administered in the doses in proportion to what is commonly used clinically in human peptic ulcer patients
