One hundred and fifteen cases of trauma [0-16 yrs of age] admitted to the E. N. T. ward over a seven year period were analysed retrospectively, for the types of injuries and mechanisms involved.
Nose was the commonest site injured [53%] and fracture nasal bone the commonest injury seen [25.21%] . Fall and Blunt trauma were the most common modes of injury [31.30% each] . In children less than 6 years of age [31.30% of total cases] fall during play [52.77%] and injury with pointed objects in mouth [44.44%] were the main causes
