In this study one hundred patients of cholelithiasis admitted at Allied Hospital [PMC] , Faisalabad were examined to see the prevalence of gallbladder carciaoma associated with cholelithiasis.
This prevalence was 20%. Carcinoma gallbladder with cholelithiasis was found in 30% of male and 17.5% of female patients. Male to female ratio of this disease was 1: 2.33. All [100%] patients of carcinoma gallbladder with cholelithiasis belonged to poor socio-economic group. Maximum male patients were in 6th decade and female patients in 5th decade of their lives. Mean age of disease in male patients was 54.33 years and in female patients was 50.50 years. Pain RUQ [100%] , nausea and vomiting [80%] were most common presenting complaints followed in decreasing order of frequency by weight loss [45%] , jaundice [45%] , pruritus [40%] , fever [30%] , anorexia [15%] and mass abdomen [15%] . Adenocarcinoma was most prevalent histological type present in 100% patients of carcinoma gallbladder with cholelithiasis. Overall prevalence of weII differentiated growth was seen in 15%, moderately differentiated in 60% and poorly differentiated in 25% patients of carcinoma gallbladder. Pre-operative diagnosis was possible only in 25% patients
