Endoscopic and histologic examinations were utilized in dagnosis of 250 non ulcer dyspectic patients. Endoscopic examination revealed gastritis in 87% of cases and the rest were considered free.
Histologically, only 0.8% of cases were normal. Helicobater pylori were detected histologically in 63.6% of cases. We found a significant correlation between endoscopic and histologic examination in diagnosis of gastritis, biopsy was important to diagnose the cause of gastritis and the associated pathology
